SailPoint runs an annual Market Pulse survey, and this year they wanted a fresh perspective, targeting senior IT decision makers instead of their usual office worker demographic. They aimed to gain a wider understanding of attitudes towards compliance and security within organisations and how these challenges are being navigated.
As they are aiming to increase brand awareness among a C-suite audience, delivering a survey that explores IT decision makers' approach to security, compliance, and identity governance seemed a great way to achieve that goal. It also enabled SailPoint to extend the life of the 2016 project data and share the findings with a wider as well as reaching a bigger press following.
Past experience of working with Vanson Bourne contributed to SailPoint’s decision to commission this research project with us. Jessica Sutera, Director of Corporate Communications at SailPoint, joined the company part way through the previous Market Pulse project which Vanson Bourne worked on, and from then knew that she wanted to use us again.
SailPoint also valued Vanson Bourne’s consultative approach and efforts throughout the process to get the best value from the research. The support in finding a story in the data after the data collection was complete was particularly valuable.
The research team worked closely with SailPoint throughout the project to ensure that the client was kept up-to-date, knew what to expect, and always received the guidance and support they needed.
SailPoint received the full suite of insight deliverables, including a data summary, data discussion and commentary report.
Vanson Bourne were delighted to be able to meet SailPoint face-to-face for the data discussion, which was extremely useful to both parties as it prompted a lot of conversation and allowed the experience to be more collaborative than a conference call. The team also provided SailPoint with extra cuts of data to help with analysis, and stat checking support to ensure press releases were accurately representing the data.
Sailpoint produced various pieces of content from the research, including blogs, a full report of the results, and an infographic.
The findings have been cited by many media organisations, including CSO, BBC, International Business Times, Information Age, IT Pro Portal, and The Australian.
