Neil Thorington
Managing Director

Neil has been Vanson Bourne’s Managing Director since 2018 and he takes a leading role in the development and implementation of our innovation-led strategy. Having gained a degree in Computer Science and Economics from the University of Kwazulu-Natal, Neil’s early career saw him working in the Information Technology departments of leading blue-chip companies before segueing across to market research some twenty five years ago. Since then, Neil has successfully led a variety of market research functions for some of the world’s largest and most innovative agencies.

Jo Weeks
Operations Director

Since joining Vanson Bourne in 2010, Jo has worked jointly on our research and business operations. She now leads Vanson Bourne’s business operations and the team of Research Executives to deliver research expertise and unsurpassed levels of customer support. She sometimes still dashes out of the office for more tea!

After developing a love for research during her degree in sociology, Jo went on to complete the Market Research Society’s Advanced Certificate in Market and Social Research Practice. When not in the office, Jo is usually found wandering around the countryside with her dog.

Lisa Costello
Commercial Director

Lis leads the commercial (account development, marketing and design) team and is a member of the leadership team at Vanson Bourne. She has 25 years of experience across the varying disciplines of market research and retail tracking (sales modelling, sales reporting, quantitative, qualitative, business-to-business, consumer, in-store and online).

Lis loves helping clients make sense of the technology sector and predict future trends in order to innovate, engage with customers, fuel marcomms strategy, strengthen and shape business decision making, and mitigate adverse market conditions through specialist B2B technology market research.

Outside work, Lis loves sport, spending time with family and friends, camping and reading anything from the latest Marian Keyes novel to literature across health, wellness and personal development topics.

Sarah Thorp
Research Director

Sarah’s role is to ensure that every client gets an unsurpassed level of support and a truly bespoke service. As part of the leadership team, she is responsible for research excellence, innovation in delivery, and developing and executing strategic activity. After 14 years with Vanson Bourne, she has experience in research consulting, creating engaging content and market research best practice. She’s worked on global campaigns for the likes of Dell, BT, IBM and Microsoft.

Sarah has qualifications from the Market Research Society and the Chartered Management Institute and runs training on market research and management skills at Vanson Bourne. Because working here isn’t stressful enough, Sarah likes to throw herself out of planes from 15,000ft, competing in skydiving at a national level.
